A Kundli (Janma Kundli) is a map of the sky at the exact moment and place of your birth, drawn in the sidereal zodiac used by Jyotish. It shows your Lagna (the rising sign), the twelve houses (bhavas) of life, and where each of the nine grahas sat by sign and nakshatra. Jyotish reads this map — together with the dasha periods that unfold from it — to describe tendencies, strengths and the timing of life’s chapters.

There are two separate questions. The calculation is precise: planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris and are astronomically accurate, so your chart is as accurate as the birth details you give us. The Lagna changes roughly every two hours and divisional charts every few minutes, so we check how sensitive your chart is to the time and tell you in the report. The interpretation is a traditional system of reading, not a science that predicts events with measurable accuracy — please treat it as guidance for reflection, not certainty.

Tell us how accurate your time is. With an approximate time we check whether your Lagna could change within that window and say so in the report. Without a birth time we work from your Moon chart (Chandra Kundli), Nakshatra and dasha periods, and we do not make claims that depend on houses, the Lagna or divisional charts.

Planetary positions are computed with the Swiss Ephemeris, the astronomical library used by professional astrology software. We follow classical Vedic (Parashari) conventions: the sidereal zodiac with Lahiri ayanamsha, whole-sign houses, the North Indian chart, Nakshatras, the Vimshottari dasha system and divisional charts such as the Navamsa (D9) and Dashamsa (D10). Your birthplace is converted to coordinates and the correct historical time zone. The interpretation is never allowed to change these calculated facts.
